Video I/O for the board is accomplished through the use of I/O Daughterboards. There will be Serial Digital and Analog daughterboards. Both the Serial Digital and the Analog daughterboards support two video input channels, and one main video output channel all at 10-bits per component. The daughterboards have adjustments for gain, and black level and have the capability of hard or soft clipping. Future daughterboards will have resolutions up to 16 bits per component, or HD support.

Multiple Video Explorer 2 boards can be connected to cascade processing capability via an overhead connector. Two or more boards can be connected and can share video inputs and outputs.
